Therapy for apraxia of speech focuses on:

  • Improving motor planning and speech imitation skills

  • Tactile cuing/PROMPT

  • Vowel differentiation and production

  • Articulation of multisyllabic words

Pragmatic and Social Language Therapy

Pragmatic and social language therapy involves:

  • Using expressive language skills for a variety of communicative functions including using language to protest, comment, respond, question, show and request

  • Initiating and maintaining conversational speech

  • Reading social cues

  • Picking up on other peoples perspectives
